The first step is setting up the workshop, for which we need to take into account the size of the hammock which we are going to produce.
We put a bar on each side, at a comfortable height for the craftsman, tighten it properly and join it with cords.
We hang the thread on the bars, neither tightly nor loosely. We will continue to make loops depending on the size which we want to produce.
We put another thread in a clip or a weaving needle which we will use for the different combinations of colours and pictures.
So with everything organised we can weave as though we were weaving fabric.
Once the whole body has been woven, we tie the sides with safety knots, therefore making a safer and more comfortable hammock as the body does not contain knots.
Finally, we have the arms of the hammock, which will be long or short, depending on the size. They will determine the width and comfort of the hammock.
From where we hang it, we will end up with what we call “the sausage” the strongest and safest part which will support all our weight.
Then we take a picture of it and this very hammock that you can see will be the one which is sent to your home.
We always produce unique designs, so that your choice is unique and personalised.
